Description of Organization and Service Provided

Heritage Area Agency is available to help you or your loved ones receive the information and support needed to maintain or improve independent living. The Johnson County Task Force on Aging provides volunteer opportunities.

Heritage is Iowa's Aging and Disability Resource Center, whose purpose is to expand and enhance the state's information and referral resources for older Iowans, individuals with disabilities, veterans and their caregivers as they begin to think about and plan for long-term independent living.

In addition to information and assistance, we also offer services related to options counseling, case management, caregiver support and education, vocational rehabilitation, elder abuse prevention and intervention, insurance counseling, evidence-based health programs and senior nutrition programming and education.



Eligibility
Heritage serves adults ages 60 and older, any adult living with a disability and caregivers. Services are available in Johnson County, as well as Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Jones, Linn and Washington counties.
