The Family Folk Machine, the intergenerational musical group that has earned terrific accolades in its five-year history, will be performing at the Unitarian Universalist Society on Sunday, February 17th, at 3pm, with a fundraising concert for the benefit of Veterans for Peace Chapter #161. $10 suggested donation. The concert will feature songsters and musicians ranging in age from five to 80, with an emphasis on the peace and justice theme. The selections will range from familiar favorites by Iris Dement, Pete Seeger, and Bob Dylan to original creations by local artists and members of the Family Folk Machine.

Veterans for Peace Chapter #161 is an organization of over 30 veterans and associates in eastern Iowa who have a simple mission: peace. VFP #161 is part of the national Veterans for Peace organization, which was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in St. Louis.

This event is just one of the many ways you can support peace—for today and for the future. Conflicts at home and abroad are far-reaching, and any effort to promote peace and show that people can make a difference is worth supporting. We are finding that military actions are not the answer to political problems. Peace encourages creativity, ingenuity, development, and stability. Join us today to support peace.
